Overview of Strain Gauge Pressure Sensor

The Strain Gauge Pressure Sensor is a robust, high-cycle pressure measuring instrument built to handle severe pressure spikes and dynamic fatigue. It operates by bonding high-stability strain gauges directly onto a 17-4 PH Stainless Steel sensing diaphragm. When media pressure deflects the diaphragm, the strain gauges experience mechanical displacement, altering their electrical resistance. This change is calculated via an internal Wheatstone bridge network and converted into a highly stable electrical output. This technology excels in applications subject to rapid pressure pulsations, water hammer, and harsh environmental cycling where traditional thin-film or piezoresistive sensors might prematurely fatigue.

Massive Burst Protection: Offers heavy-duty burst ratings up to 35 times full scale on lower pressure ranges to ensure operator and equipment safety.

Rapid Sub-Millisecond Response: A fast response time of 0.5 ms allows the sensor to capture transient pressure anomalies and high-speed hydraulic spikes accurately.

Broad Thermal Performance: Operates across a wide temperature window from -40F up to +260F (-40C to +125C) depending on the electrical termination selected.
